HOUSTON – President Biden today released plans for his executive actions and a day one immigration bill. The policies will have a significant impact in Texas, especially in the border region.

“President Biden’s prioritization of immigration issues on his first day in office is welcome news for all — especially here in Texas. For the past four years, border communities, immigrants, and people seeking asylum have been used as political pawns, dehumanized, and endured cruelty and abuse. The new administration must make urgent changes to end Trump’s horrific policies that continue to cause harm to so many people. The Biden-Harris administration must present a vision to border communities that promises immigrants and people of color a secure, bold new future. It simply can’t wait.”
