Norma Herrera serves as the policy and advocacy lead strategist for border and immigrants’ rights at the ACLU of Texas. She supports coalition-building, policy advocacy, and campaign strategy development.
Norma was born in Tamaulipas, Mexico, and grew up in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV). In her previous work, she organized with a grassroots coalition to stop border wall construction in the RGV and developed campaigns to free people from immigration detention. Her work includes building a base of directly impacted communities to organize against punitive government policies that cause harm and criminalize migration.
She has a master’s degree in public policy.
