Banned Books Week, September 24 to October 1, 2011, celebrates the First Amendment and draws attention to the censorship of literature in public schools. During this week, there will be Banned Books events throughout the country.  Half Price Books and ACLU of Texas Community Action Network members in Corpus Christi are co-hosting one such event in Corpus Christi.

WHAT:      Third Annual Banned Books Event: A Celebration of Banned Books Week

EVENT DETAILS: Featuring eight noteworthy community speakers, including The Rev. Phil Douglas of Pastor Unitarian Church, reading passages they have selected from books that have been banned or challenged.
