Annual Conference Will Turn Aspirations Into Actions

HOUSTON – The ACLU of Texas annual conference, set for November 5, focuses on community activism.

The conference will feature renowned civil rights leaders, including the Rev. William Lawson of Houston, and community organizers who will equip attendees with the motivation, skills, and knowledge necessary to protect civil liberties and create positive change in communities across Texas.

“We have had requests from members and non-members alike to help them find ways to become more involved in the pursuit of civil liberties in Texas,” said Terri Burke, ACLU of Texas Executive Director.  “The November 5 conference will be an ideal place for concerned folks from all over Texas to learn from the best activists about how to succeed as a public watchdog and community activist.”
