Andrew Hendrickson is the government relations coordinator at the ACLU of Texas, where he is involved in the organization's legislative advocacy efforts. Andrew works on all the ACLU's priority issues, including voting rights, criminal legal reform, reproductive rights, LGBTQIA+ equality, and immigration and border issues.

Prior to joining the ACLU of Texas, Andrew spent four years as a staff attorney and legislative aide for a member of the Texas Senate. During his time as a staffer in the Texas Legislature, Andrew worked on a wide range of issues focusing on election law, the criminal justice system, the judiciary, gun violence prevention, and survivors of sexual assault, sexual harassment, family violence, and human trafficking. He was the point person for more than 50 bills passed by the Legislature. Before moving to Texas in 2017, Andrew spent three sessions as a legislative director for a member of the New York State Assembly.

Andrew has a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and a bachelor's degree in human rights from Bard College. He is based in Austin.
