An amicus brief on behalf of U.S. citizens attempting to obtain birth certificates but being denied due to their parents' immigration status.

Collaborating with our counterparts at the Immigrants’ Rights Project, the ACLU of Texas filed an amicus brief in support of United States citizens trying to obtain birth certificates and being denied because of their parents’ immigration status. The brief argued that right to citizenship by virtue of their birth in the United States is enshrined in the Fourteenth Amendment and cannot be abridged.
