Sarah is the policy & advocacy strategist on border and immigrants’ rights for the ACLU of Texas. She is currently based in San Antonio but was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley.
Sarah’s experience is rooted in community-based work and immigration policy and advocacy, and as a border native, she has spent a few years focusing on asylum and border issues. Prior to joining the ACLU of Texas, Sarah worked with the National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights where she helped launch a series of human rights training institutes in Texas border communities.
Sarah has a BS in Political Science from Texas A&M University and a MA in Global Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, LBJ School. In her spare time, she likes to bake, find new bakeries, play Tetris, or hang out with her two dogs, Ellie and Millie. She is excited to join the ACLU of Texas as the border and immigrant rights strategist and looks forward to this new journey.
