Omar M. El-Halwagi is the founder and managing attorney of The Anti-Discrimination Attorney PLLC, the co-founder of Grassroots Islam, and a screenwriter. Omar previously worked for the City of Houston during Mayor Parker's administration, was an attorney at Norton Rose Fulbright, and served as the Texas state director for Tom Steyer's 2020 presidential campaign. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University, the University of Michigan Law School, and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. In 2016, Omar delivered a TEDx talk on Islamophobia and allyship. Omar has previously been named a Harry S. Truman Scholar, a Zuckerman Fellow, a Darrow Scholar, and most recently, was recognized as one of 12 outstanding alumni by Texas A&M University.
