The ACLU of Texas is currently accepting requests for legal assistance. To submit a request, information must be submitted through our intake form. Legal Assistance requests will only be considered if submitted through our intake form.
Due to the large number of requests and availability of resources, we on average accept less than 1% of our cases made through our intake form.
Please note that it may take weeks to hear back from us. If you require immediate legal assistance, we encourage you to reach out to the Texas Bar Referral Service, or call 1-877-9TEXBAR (toll free).
Cases We May Consider
The ACLU of Texas only considers cases addressing one or more of our issue areas.
- Border and Immigrants’ Rights
- Free Speech
- LGBTQA+ Equality
- Reproductive Freedom
- Smart Justice
- Voting Rights
Falling within one of our issue areas, however, does not guarantee legal assistance.
Cases We Do Not Consider
The ACLU of Texas does not consider cases regarding: private employment, landlord/housing issues, personal immigration cases, domestic matters (divorce, child custody), business transactions, or criminal cases.
