Monitoring Prisoner Complaints

If you are in a Texas prison facility, the prison library should have a copy of the ACLU Foundation of Texas Prisoner Resource Guide. The guide contains information about prisoners' legal rights. 

If you feel your civil rights are being violated, we urge you to: 

    -  Talk to a staff member you trust.

    -  File a grievance.

    -  Follow the grievance instructions as carefully as possible for every concern that you want addressed.

    -  If your grievance is denied, file an appeal if you are not satisfied with the result.

    -  Keep detailed notes on what is happening to you, including names and dates
