Thank You

annual meetingThe ACLU of Texas staff, board of directors, small army of volunteers, interns and myself, wish to thank everyone who was able to make it to our Annual Meeting and Youth Rights Conference this past Saturday. We had great turnout at what in the end was an incredibly successful event.

For all who were unable to be there, we thank you for your continued support. The Annual Meeting and Conference is the ACLU of Texas' unofficial new year and we hope that in the coming year we can connect with you in other ways and hope that maybe we'll meet in person at next year's meeting, if not sooner.

And a very special thanks to Mr. Ed Burns, co-creator of "The Wire," who often turns down speaking invitations from universities, and traveled nine hours from his home in West Virginia to be able to be here with you and us in Austin.

More about the annual meeting will be coming to you soon online and in the newsletter. Until then, here's media coverage of the event:

ACLU of Texas focuses on school discipline -- KUT.org
ACLU of Texas recruiting students to lobby for students' rights -- News 8 Austin
ACLU helps ready teens for school -- KXAN

We'll see you next year.

Yours always in liberty,
